Autumn Harvest Cards, Tags and Class

The months have flown!

Here we are, leading into the season when gratitude gets the kind of attention
it really ought to all year.  I plan to bring back Grateful Sundays here at Kitchen Table Crafter,
but in the meantime I want to share some autumn-themed cards and tags that I will be sharing
in a class at the end of this month:

October 27th, 2017from 6:30-8:30 pm

at Z Bakery and Venue

124 Confederate Street in Fort Mill, SC

Participants will be able to choose two of the four projects I have as samples,
or they can do one and then have a freestyle crop.
I will provide all materials, as well as free gifts at the end of class.
Participants may bring their own tools and supplies if they wish.

Scissors, marking pencils, coloring medium of choice
and/or a brown stamp pad

would be most useful to bring to ensure everyone has the tools they need.

Cost is $45 per participant.
Cost includes class, supplies, and a meal and dessert provided by Z Bakery.

This will be a fun opportunity to craft, eat and socialize with your girlfriends at a ladies' night out
at one of the trendiest and most welcoming venues in Fort Mill/Rock Hill area!
Participants will also receive a coupon to share with a friend for their next class.

Are you ready to see the projects?

 I will show you how to glaze with colored pencils, including
tips on Prismacolors to achieve luminous colors.

PROJECT #2: Shabby Fox Card and Chipmunk Notepad

 The notepad is a quick and easy project that you can easily customize.
If you prefer to use a different harvest-themed stamp from my collections,
you are more than welcome to. :)
I will show you how to create your own embellishments to maximize the
usefulness of scraps so that your project harmonizes.  I will also each elements of balance
for different card-making styles.   This particular card class will combine elements
of clean-and-layered style with shabby chic.

PROJECT #3: AUTUMN'S PALETTE TAG SET OF 3

The season of visits and gift-giving is not far off now!
All those hostess gifts can get expensive, but what if your gift
would itself help your friend to give her own personalized gifts?
Everyone wins!

Enter this first of two tag sets.  This one is quick and easy
and you will leave with your own customized tag sets.
Sticker message availability may vary depending on the number of participants we have,
but I guarantee you will have plenty to choose from to make your set just right!

We will make three tags and a tag holder base for each set.
You are certainly not limited to my examples.

PROJECT #4: SHABBY CHIC AUTUMN GIFT TAG SET OF 3

This second tag set is a little more complicated than the first but still
lovely and easily assembled.

 Here are the three tags I designed to go with this theme.
For the life of me I still can't pick a favorite.

Retro baking tag:

Undersea Spotlight, With Thanks

I've been saying for awhile that coloring has been difficult for me of late,
due to carpal tunnel syndrome.
Even typing this post is now difficult because my
hand control is fading and whenever I touch things with my fingertips it
feels as though my fingernail is being peeled backward.
Not particularly fun.

As I approach my due date, I may still
post a card here and there but for the most part, I will probably be a no-show
even on my favorite challenges for awhile.
I had forgotten how much I missed card-making and blogging, but
I think a break through July and a little of August is something you'll understand.
Baby H will make his appearance soon and I mostly need to rest
leading up to and after that.
My Robin and Jay still love making cards together and this has been a
fun thing we can do while I've tried to stay off my feet when possible.
However, with my finger dexterity now shot
(and try that on for size when you're a trained classical pianist)
even tying the bow for this card was a chore.

I decided to try to make my spotlight look like a bubble as well.
I took some inspiration from Chris's adorable "Just Keep Swimming" card ;)

(Thanks for the shoutout last week, girls!  You can tell I really liked the
feathered friends theme ;)

Materials Used on this Card:
Cardstock {Rustic white - Papertrey Ink}
Patterned papers {My Mind's Eye, K & Company}

Glossy Accents {Ranger}
Dimensional stickers {K & Company}

I'll be back at the end of the week with the winner(s) of my Spring Giveaway,
so stay tuned and don't be surprised if I post another one soon.
Craft room cleanout always happens in stages. ;)

As always, thank you for visiting,
take care,
be well!

Family Man - Seahorse Undersea Card - Father's Day

I simply could not resist a little fun at my DH's expense this year
for Father's Day.  He won't know it unless I tell him...should I?
The world over, pregnant women get frustrated because men just
don't know, can't know what it's like.
Sometimes I think it frustrates our men too, because they're doubly worried
about us and the baby.  My DH has been good about foot rubs and bringing
plenty of water, cleaning up the kitchen when I'm completely worn out
just from standing at the stove long enough to get something onto the table.
But there's still that little kernel.

So enter an unlikely little creature--the seahorse.
Proof to all women that there is justice in the world.
Poor seahorse, he bears the brunt of it for all males--because
The male seahorse, not the female, carries the babies.

Ha!

 I swear I did not put a googly eye on Mr. Seahorse.  It's glossy accents and a very frustrating shadow effect.  Believe me or not.

This was just a free coloring sheet printable that I had found awhile back
for use during an ocean unit with the boys.  I colored it with them on Sunday
while I was home with a sick Jay and very helpful Robin.
It's perfect because my DH will have his 3 boys very soon, just like this
seahorse dad.

Challenges:

A2, Father's Day, burlap / loose interpretation of 'watercolors'

Materials Used on this Card:
Cardstock {canyon clay, kraft - Papertrey Ink}
Patterned papers {My mind's Eye}
Image {freecoloring.com}
Sentiment sticker {TPS}
"seaweed" {floral stem foliage}
Burlap ribbon, heavy hand-quilting cotton
copper brads {TPS}
glossy accents {Ranger}
Copic sketch markers, Prismacolor pencils

Have a fantastic day!
I'll be back later on with the winners of my spring giveaway.

Be well and enjoy the sunshine,
--Kathryn
