Childhood Card - Color Dare 107

Our color combination this week at The Color Dare is...
So Saffron
Marina Mist
Cert. Celery
Unfortunately the subdued saffron tones of the SEI background paper I used are a bit blued out by the outside light for this photo; still, I did follow the rules... you'll just have to take my word for it ;)

Here are the other challenges:

My Time to Craft #146 "Here Comes Summer" - Don't we all remember childhood summer days when we only seemed to go inside to grab a cold drink or a popsicle?

Materials Used on this Card:
Cardstock {Papertrey Ink, SEI}
"Childhood" Tag {Cosmo Cricket}
Edge punches {Fiskars}
Ribbon {Offray}
Pearls {Recollections}
Machine stitching

Happy 4th of July Card

The theme at Sentimental Sundays this week is Patriotic!  If you're not in the US, you can still play along of course--just use the colors of your own nation's flag!
For my card I tried to incorporate all kinds of iconic 4th of July elements.  The red gingham ribbon reminds me of a picnic tablecloth.  The splash of stemmed pearls reminds me of a firework, and then there's the star of course, with patriotic verse on it, and tricolor ribbons...

Here are the challenges:
Sentimental Sundays #61 "Patriotic / Your Nation's Flag"

Materials Used on this Card:
Cardstock {Papertrey Ink}
Stamps {Hero Arts}
Ink: Archival Brilliance "Moonlight White" {Tsukineko}
White Galaxy Marker {American Crafts}
Fabric Brads {Making Memories}

Summery Flower Thank Yous - Set of 8

Here is a summery, breezy card set to cheer up your afternoon!

For some inexplicable reason, from the moment I saw these chipboard flowers,

I wanted to wear denim overalls and pull up my hair in a french-braid...

I've tried to recapture that simple, airy, carefree and happy feeling the flowers gave me
in the designing of these cards...

Not too heavy. Summer breezy colors... and plenty of white.

These cards are most specifically for this week's Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World.
I love the soft colors, and I carried over the stripes.

These cards also play in the following challenges:

Everybody Art #147 "Anything Goes"

 Materials Used on these Cards:
Cardstock {Martha Stewart "Playful Blue", Georgia Pacific, Recycled Kraft}
Sentiment Stamp {Fiskars}
Chipboard Flowers {"Bay Flowers" Cloud 9 Design by Fiskars}
Light blue brads {Spare Parts by The Paper Studio}

Live well, lovelies!

"You and Me" - CAS Wedding/Anniversary Card

I've been in a clean-up-the-cardmaking-mess-off-my-craft-table mode lately.  (We won't mention the other places around the house that could use some similar TLC* ;)
Do you ever find yourself trying an element on a project, but after you've gotten it put together and hold it up, it doesn't quite work the way you thought it would--so you set it aside to use later?  Well that's a long-standing habit of mine and in the past few days I decided that that pile of potential was certainly big enough to make something out of by now!  I'd like to see the wood of my craft table again... for a little while at least ;)
Here is one of many scrap-pile cards made this week:
And the challenges:

Graduation Owl - "Branching Out"

This is a graduation card for a male cousin who's graduating college with flying colors.
The owl stamp I had, but it didn't have a tail or the graduation hat; I doodled those in myself, along with some further details/lengthening of the branch he's sitting on.  To be honest, I think I even like the inside of the card best!  Doodling this one was so much fun.  And I think it came out masculine-looking and also true to my style, which is in fact an accomplishment ;)

And the inside:

Here are the challenges:

Materials Used on this Card:
Cardstock {Papertrey Ink}
Stamps {Inkadinkado, Papertrey Ink} + doodling
Apron Lace edge punch {Fiskars}
Swiss dots embossing folder {Provo Craft}
Brown brads {Spare Parts}
Butcher's twine

Hoep you all have a great day, and thak you so much for visiting!

Free Digi Sketch: Penguin 1

Good morning friends! It's Monday and I have another Digi Sketch to share with you today!

This sketch is a cute little penguin running along the rocks.
My sweetie and I went to the Zoo for our Anniversary this year and it was SO much fun.  I think we'll be taking the boys back sometime this summer but it was also nice to go as a couple.  We enjoyed seeing the penguins' little antics during feeding time.

File is in .jpg format
